Surrounded by olive groves, this enchanting and romantic lake is set in the mountains, and embraced by hills that slope gently towards the Franciacorta area, famous for its exceptional wines.
Still not very well known by the main stream tourism, Lake Iseo will give you a less exploited and more authentic experience.
Lake Iseo is located in Lombardy, Northern Italy, between Lake Como and Lake Garda. It is approximately an hours drive from Milan, and close to the towns of Bergamo and Brescia.
Around the lake there are some charming medieval towns, the largest being Iseo, Sarnico, Lovere, and Pisogne. The towns offers bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels, B&Bs and several campsites running alongside the lake shore.
In the middle of Lake Iseo is Monte Isola (or Montisola), which is the largest lake island in Europe, that can easily be reached via the regular running lake ferries.
